South of Sydney, a rumble is disrupting the sleepy suburbia and getting louder with every minute. Come 2016, it's bigger, better and returning for its fourth year: Sounds of the Suburbs is back to stake its claim as the country's premier boutique festival, bringing circle pits and three packed stages to Wilbar Lane in Cronulla. With the festival going down on Sunday September 25th, here's the froth-worthy lineup that'll boost excitement levels high.

Headlining the whole shebang is DZ Deathrays, fresh from a colossal national tour with fellow Queensland hooligans Violent Soho & Dune Rats. It's been non-stop for the duo since snatching an ARIA Award for their debut album Bloodstreams in 2012, and they've since earned a reputation as one of the country's most reliable riff dispensers. Flying all the way over from Oregon, Guantanamo Baywatch will be delivering their surf-inspired sound with a carefree attitude, equating in unadulterated dancefloor fun. Having taken on SXSW and Field Day in 2015, Perth's own booze enthusiast Peter Bibby will be there to churn out relatable rock anthems for all the rascals in the audience.

Triple J Unearthed Southbound winners Verge Collection are also making the pilgrimage from the West Coast for Sounds of the Suburbs, while Wild Honey will be coming in hot from their 'Pull It Together' headline tour - named after the tastefully rustic single they dropped back in June. Esteemed songwriter Alex Lahey will be performing tracks from her recently-released B-Grade University EP, and Sydney's own Big White will earn a warm welcome after sold-out hometown shows throughout 2016. And if you try to claim that you don't want to see a band named Uplifting Bell Ends, then you're a flat-out liar.

The three stages of zesty tunes will be supplemented by an art room displaying works from local creatives, as well as lip-smackin' Mexican food from El Sol and Italian wood-fired flavours courtesy of Queen Margherita Of Savoy. After filling your stomachs, wash it all down with some sangria or your usual brew of choice from the stacked bar. Mark down the dates in your calendar and prepare to chuck a sickie on Monday morning, because Sounds of the Suburbs is going all the way up. Your boss won't mind and you deserve it.
